faces-faces-faces

Arvell Jones- a Marvel and DC legend told me to draw faces all the time for practice- I just can't seem to shake doing it- aw well

just some environmentals

I know I keep focusing on storyboards, comics and characters but just some environmental sketches here- since scenery is also a character- all were done either in photo shop or painter 9

another storyboard sample

here is the first scene in Mystify episode one- again don't know if this scene will be filmed but i decided to put shade on this version in photoshop- my goal is to do it all in photoshop- i will get there...

the last story board sample today

here is the final page for this particular scene- have to credit Mike Vanderpool a local director and actor on his direction for the scene set up- he had a shot list written up which made this work a lot easier- if I ever get the chance to work for a director ( for pay), a shot list will be appreciated

another story board sample

here is page two of the same scene

okay story board sample

here is part of a storyboard sequence i did for some local screen writers for a potential pitch- since I did not get paid i will post- if there is a beef- i will take it down- here goes

3d blocking test

Here is a 3d blocking test I did working with the guys from
Detroit project- all the assets were given to me and I manipulated them in Blender to get the screen renders and arranged them in
Photoshop- don't know if this has potential job opportunity with the skill,
but is was cool to figure out

another colored Fx page- cool

this is the first spread from FX mulrooney book 1
I am crazy about the writing Craig Linne did on
this- i have got to finish this series even just for
him- and i definitely cannot forget Darnell Sealie and Patrick Hatfield for the backgrounds and ink,
respectively- Sean Grey colored this too for
presentation - just Cool

colored page- fx-mulrooney

here is a colored sample page from FX mulrooney book 1- this may never see the light of day since the book is in black and white- but it was really cool- colors were by Sean Grey

FX mulrooney-

this is my character FX looking "mean
this is my character that I will be pushing- I created him in
1996 and completed the 1st comic with the help of
Craig Linne- writer
Darnell Sealie- background artist
Patrick Hatfield- inker and art director
and me as penciler and creator- i will have to finish his
story in books 2-4 coming soon- I would like to push this
character into a video game one day

hardware times

following are a couple of pics off my hard drive that were attempts of drawing an inspirational african based comic character called Hardware- created by Denys Cowan and Dwayne McDuffie for Milestone Comics- this and Icon were my favorite characters from this brand- even though not as popular as the two characters mentioned above- Static Shock became the most popular in the cartoon experience for WB- all i can say for those guys that formerly made up Milestone- they did good by my standards and ended up producing and writing for many of the Warner Bros-DC cartoons from the last 10 years- so just a little pictorial tribute from me

hardware pics

this is another try at a cartoony
hardware character

hardware pics

this is a my try at Hardware from milestone comics fame
okay i am going to make this my mini portfolio blog page- since I am not a cartoonist from birth I will try to separate posts for three areas- comic pages, story boards, and character design- please comment if my junk is getting too trippy or I should focus more on one or the other
